Please note: There is a new Sign Ordinance (Number 2008-10) that impacts where and how political signs can be displayed. This ordinance authorizes the city to remove signs, even those on private property, that fail to follow the guidelines. The city’s information sheet on this ordinance is available here (83k .pdf file); however, key points to note are the following:

• Signs may only be placed on private property with the permission of the property owner.
• Signs cannot be placed on any public right-of-way, utility poles or traffic sign posts.
• Signs must be at least 10 feet from the edge of the road.
• Signs should not visually block any traffic intersection.
• Signs from the same candidate on the same property must be separated by at least 100 feet.
• All signs must be removed within 3 days of the election to which they pertain.
